Around the same time Dior reintroduced the hobble-skirt. The chemise and sack clothes which took over 1958 didn’t die out completely in 1959, but it was actually on its way out. Matching the last decade’s theme of excess, this workout type featured daring outfits for women. From excessive-rise bodysuits and headbands to neon-bright leggings and bike shorts, ‘80s workout fashion was loud and proud. From the mid Nineteen Eighties until the early Nineties, mullets had been popular in suburban and rural areas amongst working-class males.

The power jacket turned a Michael Jackson type signature and some of the copied cuts of the decade. This iconic piece went on to sell for $1.8million at auction in 2011, described by its new owner as ‘the best piece of rock memorabilia ever’. This outfit is a fun evening-out look that combines two ’80s music tendencies. Unlike most issues in the ’80s,glam rock fashionactually grew to become a bit extra toned down through the decade.
